Events at Hurlstone Agricultural High School showcase the richness of school, farm, and boarding life. They bring learning to life, build student confidence, and celebrate achievement across academics, agriculture, the arts, sport, and leadership. Our events also connect families and the wider community, offering shared moments of pride in all that our students accomplish.

Sports and Physical Education
Swimming Carnival
Date: February 24, 2025
Time: All day, beginning 8:40am
The Swimming Carnival is a highlight of our school year, where students compete with spirit and pride in a range of events. It’s a chance to celebrate teamwork, healthy competition, and house pride in a fun and supportive environment.
Cross Country
Date: April 8, 2025
Time: 1:15pm start
The Cross Country Carnival challenges students to test their endurance and resilience while representing their house with pride. It’s an inclusive event that encourages participation, fitness, and school spirit across all year groups.
Athletics Carnival
Date: April 30, 2025
Time: All day, beginning 8:40am
The Athletics Carnival is a major event on our calendar, where students showcase their talent, determination, and house spirit across track and field events. It’s a day that brings our school community together to celebrate achievement, teamwork, and healthy competition.
Transition and Social Emotional Support
Year 6 into 7 (2026) Boarder Camp
Date: August 29 to August 31, 2025
Time: 3:30pm arrival on August 29, 11:30 am departure on August 31
The Year 6 into 7 Boarder Camp gives new students the chance to settle into boarding life in a safe and supportive environment. With caring staff on hand and activities designed to build friendships and confidence, families can be assured that their children begin high school feeling welcomed, connected, and well supported.
Years 8-11 (2026) Boarder Camp
Date: November 14 to November 16, 2025
Time: After 4:00pm arrival on November 14, after 2:00pm departure on November 16
The Years 8–11 Boarder Camp supports students’ wellbeing by providing time away from routine to connect, recharge, and grow together. Guided by experienced staff, the camp focuses on building leadership skills, strengthening friendships, and nurturing the confidence students need to thrive in boarding and school life.
Orientation Day Boarder Camp (Years 7 - 11 2026)
Dates: December 2 to December 3, 2025
Time: After 4:00pm arrival on December 2, after 2:00pm departure on December 3
The Years 7–11 Boarder Orientation Day Camp helps students settle into boarding life by building friendships and confidence from the very beginning. With the support of experienced staff, the camp introduces routines, encourages teamwork, and nurtures the sense of belonging students need to thrive in their new school and home.

Orientation Day welcomes our newest students and families to Hurlstone, giving them the chance to meet teachers, explore facilities, and experience life on our school, farm, and boarding campus. It’s the first step in building a strong sense of belonging and confidence for the journey ahead.
Year 7 (2026) Camp - Held 2026
Date: June 15 to June 17, 2026
Time: All day, beginning 8:40am
The Year 7 Camp helps students settle into high school in a supportive and structured environment. With caring staff and carefully designed activities, the camp builds confidence, encourages teamwork, and reassures families that their children are safe, engaged, and supported as they begin their Hurlstone journey.
Recognition and Celebration of Achievement
Year 12 Boarder Graduation Dinner
Date: September 21, 2025
Time: 5:00pm arrival for a start 5:30pm
The Year 12 Boarder Graduation Dinner is a special tradition where parents, carers, staff, and the entire boarding community come together to celebrate our graduating students. It is a night of reflection, gratitude, and pride, marking the end of their boarding journey and the beginning of their next chapter.
Year 12 Graduation Assembly

Time: 8:30am arrival for a 9:00am start
Year 12 Graduation is a milestone celebration that honours the achievements, resilience, and leadership of our senior students. It is a proud moment for families, staff, and the wider Hurlstone community as we farewell our graduates and acknowledge their contribution to school, farm, and boarding life.
Year 11 Recognition Assembly
Date: November 12, 2025
Time: 10:20am arrival for a 10:30am start
The Year 11 Graduation Assembly celebrates the achievements of our senior students as they complete Stage 6 Preliminary courses. It also sets the standard for Year 12, inspiring students to embrace high expectations and prepare for the challenges and opportunities of their final school year.
Year 10 Recognition Assembly
Date: December 15, 2025
Time: 1:30pm arrival for a 1:45pm start
The Year 10 Recognition Assembly marks the completion of Stage 5 and celebrates student achievement, resilience, and growth. It also sets the expectation for senior studies, encouraging students to embrace the challenges of Stage 6 with confidence and commitment.
Year 9 Recognition Assembly

The Year 9 Recognition Assembly celebrates the achievements and development of students as they progress through Stage 5. It recognises their growing maturity and effort, while setting high expectations for the challenges and opportunities of Year 10.
Year 8 Recognition Assembly

The Year 8 Recognition Assembly highlights the progress, achievement, and resilience of students as they complete Stage 4. It is a chance to celebrate their growth and set clear expectations as they prepare to enter Stage 5 with confidence and purpose.
