Careers
At Hurlstone Agricultural High School, Careers Education is not an add-on to learning. It is an integrated pathway from aspiration to action.
As a fully selective, academically rigorous and agriculturally distinctive school, we prepare students not only to achieve exceptional HSC outcomes, but to make informed, strategic decisions about their futures. Our Careers program supports students to understand themselves, explore post-school pathways, and align their strengths with emerging opportunities in university, vocational education, apprenticeships, industry and enterprise.
Careers education at Hurlstone begins early and deepens each year. Students engage in structured career exploration, subject selection guidance, tertiary admissions support, scholarship awareness, workplace learning opportunities, and individualised pathway planning. Particular emphasis is placed on high-potential and gifted education, rural and agricultural industries, STEM futures, and leadership development.
We work in partnership with families, universities, training providers and industry to ensure that every student graduates with clarity, confidence and direction.
At Hurlstone, we do not leave futures to chance. We prepare students to step forward informed, capable and ready.
Information Sessions
Our Information Sessions provide families and students with clear, timely guidance at each key stage of schooling.
These sessions outline academic expectations, subject selection processes, post-school pathways, wellbeing supports, boarding structures, and important milestones across Years 7–12. Each session is designed to strengthen understanding, reduce uncertainty, and ensure decisions are informed and strategic.
At Hurlstone Agricultural High School, we believe clarity builds confidence, and confident students make strong choices.
Years 11 and 12 Careers Adviser and UAC Information Session
On 25 February 2026, senior students and families attended a focused information session led by the Careers Adviser at Hurlstone Agricultural High School, outlining key processes for post-school planning and tertiary applications.
The session provided a detailed overview of pathways to university, early entry considerations, scholarship timelines, and the application procedures through Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Particular attention was given to ATAR calculation, course preferences, documentation requirements, and critical deadlines for the 2026–2027 admissions cycle.
