Visitors to Hurlstone
Families and friends play an important role in supporting the wellbeing and success of students throughout their boarding experience. At Hurlstone Agricultural High School, visits from parents, carers, and approved visitors are welcomed as part of maintaining strong connections between students, families, and the boarding community.
This page provides information about visitor procedures, sign-in requirements, approved visiting times, leave arrangements, and expectations for visitors to the boarding school. These processes help ensure visits occur in a safe, organised, and supportive manner while maintaining the wellbeing and daily routines of all students.
Our boarding staff work closely with families to support positive and meaningful visits that strengthen students’ sense of connection, belonging, and support during their time away from home.
Visitors to the Boarding School
During business and out of school hours, all visitors, including parents, upon arrival to the school must report to Block A duty room to sign in, and announce their arrival and sign in with the Duty Team Leader after hours. This enables the school to know who is onsite, especially in the event of a lockdown or accounting for everyone during an evacuation. All visitors to the school must also remember to sign out when they are leaving by signing out at the same administration area.
Visiting Day Students
Hurlstone day students are welcome to visit and be involved in after school or weekend activities with their friends within the boarding school. As a visitor to the boarding school, they need to sign in the Block A duty room upon arrival and departure. Visitors are not permitted to enter dormitories but can visit in permitted outdoor spaces and common rooms.
