Hurlstone Agricultural High School is a fully selective co-educational high school. We provide highly gifted students with the best educational opportunities to achieve academically, to develop socially and to demonstrate the skills that are required to succeed in later life. We utilise our farm for agricultural education to encourage lifelong learning. Selective high schools are un-zoned so parents can apply regardless of where they live.

For regional, rural or remote students , there is the opportunity to board at our school.

How to Enrol

Year 7 Applications for Hurlstone Agricultural High School

Applications for Year 7 entry into a selective high school are open in November 2025 and close mid February 2026.

The Selective High School tests are conducted over a 3-day period in May 2026. Students will need to attend one test date only. Click here for further information regarding entry into New South Wales Department of Education selective high schools.

School Contributions

In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.

Transition to Hurlstone Agricultural High School

Starting at a new school (and, for some, often a new home) is a big step. At Hurlstone Agricultural High School, we work closely with students and their families to make the transition welcoming, positive, and productive.

We provide school tours for prospective boarding students and their families, online information sessions, and orientation programs. These experiences help students feel prepared for school, learning on a farm, and life in boarding. Transition programs at our school include:
